If you are part of a particular group the United States Government will send you one of two upcoming April Social Security checks. Each of these checks has mandatory requirements, so if we are eligible we will be able to get it in our checking account.
Also, in the past few weeks the Social Security Administration has already sent two checks to retirees. This means that the money may already be available to us. It all depends on which group of retirees we belong to. But it’s a good idea to check the requirements for each payment to make sure.
When do the two new April 2024 Social Security payments arrive?
In the next few weeks, thousands of United States citizens will get one of these new Social Security checks. In order to get one, we must check both the requirements and the collection day.
Depending on the day, the requirements will be one or the other. With this in mind, let’s see what those days and requirements are:
April 17th. Social Security payment for retirees with birthdays between the 11th and 20th of any month. It is also mandatory to have applied for retirement after May 1997.
April 24th. Checks on this day will only be for beneficiaries after May 1997 with birthdays between the 21st and 31st of any month.
Remember, these are the days on which the Social Security Administration sends payments. Whether or not you get them on the same day depends on whether or not you have activated Direct Deposit as a collection method.
Other Social Security payments in April 2024
In addition to these two payments, the Administration has already sent other different payments in the previous weeks. Check all payment requirements carefully to determine if you are eligible to get one of these payments. If so, you will have to claim in case you do not have the money already available.
The payments in the previous weeks were on April 1st, April 3rd and April 10th. The payment on April 1st was only for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) recipients. Also, pre-1997 retirees got Social Security on April 3rd.
The April 10th payment was for retirees with a Social Security check after 1997, as well as having a birthday between the 1st and 10th of the month. If you fall into one of these groups, claim your benefit as soon as possible so you can get it soon.
