The most affordable cable streaming service on the Internet just got even cheaper for Black Friday

Black Friday 2020 deals are everywhere you look, even in the most unexpected places. Streaming services — not typically the first thing that comes to mind on sale days — have lowered the prices of its plans this weekend, including Philo and its cable streaming platform.

The under-the-radar platform is already the cheapest cable streaming option available on the market at its $20-per-month price, and now, new and returning subscribers can get 25 percent off their first month by using the coupon code “BLACKFRIDAY” when starting an account. The deal is slated to last until this Sunday, Nov. 29, at 11:59 p.m. ET/8:59 p.m. PT.

With 63 channels that include A&E, AMC, BBC America, Comedy Central, and The Hallmark Channel, Philo’s lifestyle-heavy lineup is perfect for fans of series like Killing Eve and Schitt’s Creek, as well as holiday movies like Hallmark’s A Nashville Christmas Carol and home renovations shows such as HGTV’s Fixer Upper. On-demand selection is available too, with movies like Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and Office Space included, and viewers can even add on additional channels like Starz and Epix.

Philo isn’t the only streaming service offering a Black Friday deal, though: Hulu’s basic, ad-included plan is now just $1.99 per month for the next year, available to new customers and certain returning subscribers. Whereas Hulu’s promotion includes access to its full library of shows and movies with ad breaks, Philo’s deal provides live cable streaming to cord-cutters at a fraction of the price compared to Hulu’s same service, Hulu Live TV.

The streaming service provides a seven-day trial period for those who aren’t ready to commit yet, but Cyber Week will probably be the last chance of the year for those curious to try out Philo at a discount.
