YouTube’s VR app arrives on Oculus Go

Facebook’s standalone Oculus Go headset is getting a huge dose of immersive entertainment courtesy of YouTube VR. Announced at the Oculus Connect 5 event in September, the app is now available for the entry-level device via the Oculus Store.

It follows its launch on almost every other leading VR headset, including PlayStation VR, Daydream, HTC Vive, and Samsung Gear VR — its arrival on the latter also brought with it a new group viewing option that lets you and your pals watch videos together. A casting option that lets you project what you’re seeing to mobiles and TVs also recently made the cut (akin to the feature that’s already available on the Oculus app). As for the next-generation of Oculus Go headsets, they’ll be getting microSD card support, a new night mode and low-power mode.
