The Apple Watch Ultra 2 just dropped to its lowest price yet for Black Friday
The official kick-off to Black Friday 2024 is just hours away, but Amazon is already dashing through the snow with seasonal savings on coveted Apple products, which rarely see sales. Right now, the Apple Watch Ultra 2 (which normally sells around $700) is on sale for $620. That’s a whopping $179 discount on Apple’s best smartwatch model.
The Apple Watch Ultra 2 was first released in September 2023, and since then, it only drops in price, here and there, usually only between $50 to $100 off at most. This is the best deal we’ve seen yet — thanks to Amazon’s discount and an on-page coupon.
To score this discount in full, make sure to apply that on-page coupon on Amazon, which scores you $80 off. Right now, this deal applies to the Apple Watch Ultra 2 49mm GPS + Cellular Blue Ocean Band model, though other band options are available (it will just cost you more). Remember that you can always replace this blue band with one of your choosing, so unless you’re dead set on a specific Apple band with your purchase, it ultimately doesn’t matter what band color you buy.
The best news? This isn’t the only Apple Watch Black Friday deal you can score. This sleeper Ultra 2 deal is in good company. The Apple Watch Series 9, Series 10, and SE (2nd Gen) are all on sale right now at Amazon, and all for the best prices we’ve seen to date.
ZDNET expert reviewer Matthew Miller says that the Apple Watch Ultra 2 delivers the most premium smartwatch. After all, it is ranked ZDNET’s best overall Apple Watch for its outstanding features and performance, too. The Apple Watch Ultra 2 incorporates a faster S9 processor, a brighter display, twice the internal storage, and a series of recycled materials that, Miller says, somehow, don’t make the wearable feel any bit worse.
WatchOS 10 was released when the Watch Ultra 2 was announced. Miller says that it’s made the Apple Watch experience an “absolute joy to use” because of the new functions for the side button and digital crown, along with spacious and info-rich watch faces that are optimized for the Watch Ultra models. Since then, WatchOS 11 has been released with improvements to its exercise and fitness modes and overall mode experience.
Miller also says the Ultra 2 is not a needed upgrade if you already own a functioning Ultra, but if you’re entering Apple’s premium lineup for the first time, there are some compelling reasons to make your first Ultra purchase with the newest Ultra 2 model. With that said, if you’re looking to get or gift an Apple Watch Ultra 2 this holiday season, don’t miss out on this deal — it’s more than just good.
