Seniors over 65 or disability receive good news: they will be able to receive an extra payment every month

A benefit that not all United States citizens are aware of can grant up to $943 to eligible Social Security beneficiaries. And there are only two requirements we must meet if we want to obtain this extra payment. Likewise, it is also worth noting that many Americans who are eligible to get this benefit do not apply for it because they do not know they can do so. So check the conditions well because you could get a new payment of up to $943 every month that will serve to bolster your household finances. However, if you do not meet the requirements you will not be able to have this monthly check. So take a good look at what are all the conditions in general and if so, apply for the payment as soon as possible. Undoubtedly, having access to one of these monthly checks can be very beneficial for your pocket.

How do I get the extra Social Security payment each month?

Social Security beneficiaries can apply for this extra check called Supplemental Security Income if they meet two conditions. The first condition is related to age or having a disability. The second condition relates to the beneficiary’s monthly income. For clarity, here are the two conditions for applying for and getting Supplemental Security Income each month:
  1. Be age 65 or older or have a disability.
  2. Have low monthly income, as well as low resources.
Each Supplemental Security Income application case is studied independently. So you may have to wait a while before you can start collecting this extra Social Security benefit. If you have access to a check, you will get a new payment on the 1st day of each month, with some exceptions. For example, in May we will have two payments of this benefit, making the collection of this Social Security payment on the 1st and 31st of May. The amount that the beneficiaries of this benefit get depends directly on their monthly income. Thus, a beneficiary with less monthly income will have a larger check with a maximum of $943. It is also good to note that it is not necessary to have retirement activated to get this check. If we have a Social Security retirement, the Supplemental Security Income is compatible, but it is not mandatory to be retired to request the extra monthly benefit.
