LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — An upcoming project is bringing internet access to more households across the valley.
The Department of Commerce’s National Telecommunications and Information Administration is providing a $7.35 million grant to kickstart a fiber project in Elko County.
The project will bring high-speed internet service to over 5,500 homes, 169 businesses and 21 community anchor institutions as a part of the Biden-Harris Administration’s Internet for All initiative.
“This project will help bridge the digital divide to connect thousands of families in Elko County to affordable, reliable service,” Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Communications and Information Alan Davidson said.
Nevada has received over $930 million to build reliable and affordable high-speed internet through the Biden-Harris Administration’s initiative.
