U.S stocks finished higher on Wednesday, recouping some losses from the worst start to a Thanksgiving week in nearly half a century.
The tech-dominant Nasdaq Composite COMP, +0.92% was the best-performing major index, closing up 0.9%, the S&P 500 SPX, +0.30% added 0.3% and the Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, +0.00% lagged, finishing the session unchanged.
In economic news, jobless claims rose to 224,000 and durable goods orders fell 4.4%.
Elsewhere, in company news, shares of Footlocker Inc. FL, +14.91% climbed 15% following a third-quarter earnings beat. U.S. financial markets are closed for Thanksgiving on Thursday.
